The incredible faculty. At one point UCLA and USC both had anti-nepotism rules, so Oxy was where all the trailing spouses went to teach. And what spouses! Absolutely first class!!
They've switched from trimesters to semesters since I went there. Trimesters were wonderful: 10 weeks to focus on only 3 subjects. Sadly, they've reverted to the usual semesters.

Academics (absolutely wonderful professors and small classes), and the social life (my best friends were made at Occidental.)
High cost - but it is similar to other private schools and is worth it!
