Los Angeles Recording School

Established in 1985, the Los Angeles Recording School is a private, for-profit, vocational college located in Hollywood, California, It is a member of the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).

With an enrollment of 1500 students, the Los Angeles Recording School offers a variety of different programs. The one-year certificate program is the core of the school. The eighteen-month extended Associate of Science in Recording Arts program requires students to take general education courses online through Full Sail University.

The Los Angeles Recording School curriculum provides students with exposure to various aspects of the recording industry and familiarizes them with the tools used during the recording, mixing, mastering and editing of songs and soundtracks. Students are also trained in the creative use of music and sound effects for films, TV shows and videogames. All Los Angeles Recording School students receive practical training with the latest digital equipment, as well as with traditional analogue boards.

The Los Angeles Recording School has three separate locations in Hollywood and is comprised of over 50,000 square feet of classrooms and facilities, as well as practical studios and labs. It is a commuter campus, as housing is not available on site.

Career development is also offered at the Los Angeles Recording School to prepare students for life after school and the realities of working in the entertainment business. These services include: career advisement, internship assistance, on-campus employer presentations and guest speaker lectures. Alumni of the Los Angeles Recording School work in the recording industry as engineers, sound effects technicians, music producers and in various other capacities.
