Kaplan offers over 170 certificates and degree programs for the variety of in the student body. Kaplan was founded in 1937 in Davenport, Iowa and called the American Institute of Commerce, then emerged into Kaplan College and now has is Kaplan University. In the beginning, the school focused mainly on technical programs and certificates that would get their students into a good career. Today, there are four physical campuses, and six physical learning centers, and a strong online program. The interaction in a learning environment, even online, makes for a superior online learning experience. With over 53,000 students nationally and internationally, Kaplan is highly regarded as a stellar school, and one that is an honor to attend.
