Galen College-Fresno is a private for-profit institution of higher learning. It was founded in 1967 as Blair College and changed its name to Galen College in 1969 in honor of Claudius Galenus, an ancient Greek philosopher and physician.
The college is committed to enhancing allied health career opportunities of students by helping them gain the necessary education and skills. All faculty and staff strive to provide a professional learning environment to help every student reach their maximum potential. Classroom instruction includes role-playing components to simulate workforce experiences.
The campus includes classrooms and dental, medical, and massage laboratories that model a real-life work environment. Galen College-Fresno offers placement assistance to all graduates to help with securing employment. Brush-up training is also available. The college operates year-round with the exception of holidays and vacation periods.
Galen College-Fresno is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. The Dental Board of California also approves the dental assistant program.
