Canisius College traces its roots to German Jesuit priests in Buffalo, New York. European political turmoil in the 1800s caused a large migration to America. A flourishing German population settled in Buffalo. In 1870 German Jesuit priests saw a need for higher education in their growing Catholic community. They named the school after St. Peter Canisius, a Dutch Jesuit of the 16th century known for his passion for education and author of the Catechism. The organizers promoted Catholic intellectual life, spiritual development and service to others. Canisius College remains faithful to the founder’s vision.

The community. A small liberal arts school with lots of personality. There are a ton of clubs to get involved in and there is something for everyone!
Location.... East Side of Buffalo but, right on the subway line.

The relationships formed, between peers, teachers, employers, and staff.
The surrounding neighborhood is not a bad area, but there's not a whole lot to do in it.
